Thanks for including the Mod Manager log. I bolded the parts of the log to indicate where the failure is identified.Ken
KDK
Hi Ken, Thanks for the quick reply. I'd like to claim it was the lateness of the hour of my posting. Alack and alass, it's earlier and I'm still a bit confused. Because this install is called "Automated", I evidently erroneously believed that the manual file changes no longer needed to be made. I unzipped Img_viewer_V181(2).zip and copied the file - the only content of the zip was the .cfg to admin/mod_manager (I am very familiar with the use of admin/mod_manager, having installed a number of very useful mods created by the TNG techie community). So, I will return to the top of the "Automated Install" and do the manual changes in steps 1 and 2, including unzipping Jerome's version (more concise), copying the several files to admin/mod_manager. I will proceed to Step 3 which will involve copying the one .cfg file to admin/mod_manager. I will login as admin, select mod_manager and run the install script. Two things might be helpful clarifications in the instructions:1. Find a way to name the downloads in such a way that they are clearly different downloads (step 1, step 3). 2. Don't call the set of steps "Automated Install" when it contains manual steps. Thanks for your help!Sincerely,Katie

That is not to say that certain mods will not require manual steps. In the case of the Image Viewer, I do not own the code for that mod, so I just created the Mod Manager config file to make it easier to install it. As a result I did not include the code itself within the config file, like I did for the mods that I own. Also since there are some of us who only want the Image Viewer for certain media types, you may need to edit the config file itself for the install option. It is expected that users will read the TNG Wiki articles related to the mods. Cheers,Ken
KDK
Well, Ken. I seem to have hit a raw nerve or something. If so, it is unintended. I do and did read TNGWiki, and generally I understand what I read. (I have 35+ years in information systems). As I stated, I found the instructions confusing. Having majored in English and taught English composition, I have some credibility when it comes to offering some suggestions for clarity. I don't mind if you choose to ignore the suggestions. I just hope you didn't and don't feel offended. The TNG Community whether here in the Forum or in Wiki is a valued asset, and you are a treasured member of it. Peace and joy to you and all the community members in this wonderful season.Sincerely,Katie

Any TNG User with a wiki User ID is welcomed to contribute. The Automated Install in most cases works, but in the case of the Image Viewer Mod where I am not the mod author or supporter, I did not feel that I should include Bret Rumsey's code directly within the config file.Hope you have a wonderful holiday and will consider making the contributions directly in the wiki, especially i there are areas where you consider the instructions confusing.Ken
paul54729
Rather than start a new thread, I'll just tack on this Image Viewer-related post. I just installed Image Viewer using the Mod Manager and it works fine except that when the image doesn't actually exist, the viewer hangs with the "waiting" message. I'm unacquainted with php so I'm not sure how to incorporate a timeout, but doesn't it seem reasonable that one should be added? (Newbie question.) (Newbie question.)It does not seem like the mod developer - Bret Rumsey has been monitoring the forum in the last several months. He also has not answered several emails I sent him on what I perceived as other problems. It is true that if the image does not exist, the Image Viewer remains in a "waiting message" - unfortunately the code is a combination of javascript and php, so someone else will need to provide a solution.P.S. It is often best to start a New Topic.

At 100% (i.e. no zoom) the lower part of images is not shown. For me this is especially significant because I have a title at the bottom and it doesn't get displayed. That is the way the Image Viewer works. It displays 600px of height and you need to click within the image and drag it to see the rest of the Image. If you want to see 100% of the image, the you should use the Mod Manager Remove capability and uninstall the Image Viewer.
svoght
Thanks.I see another problem with the Image Viewer: The lower part of my images is being cropped and to see the entire image I need to zoom out to 75%. At 100% (i.e. no zoom) the lower part of images is not shown. For me this is especially significant because I have a title at the bottom and it doesn't get displayed. There is an instruction within the image viewer config file telling you how to change this and have it always display the full height of an image. You will need to edit the file 'extensions/imageviewer.php' (this is a new file that is created when you install the mod.)At the very top of that file, the instructions read 'If you want to dynamically set the height of the image change onLoad="calcHeight(600)" to onLoad="calcHeight(1)" in the following section that you choose to implement the Image Viewer.'In the very next line of code (a very long line starting with 'echo "<span id=\"msg\"...'), you will find that snippet of code about three-quarters of the way down the line. Simply change the '600' to '1', save the file and that will fix your problem, while still permitting you to use the image viewer.I know it's not obvious without a little editing, but it's feasible and hopefully in the future it will be easier to implement without needing to manually edit files.-Steve
