Adri1
I'm Trying to install TNG on Infinityfree the free version. I upload all files from the zip version13 to a map in htdocs: tng. Then I go to the readme.html but when I try to set permissions or the other things, then I get this error: There was a problem returning data from the server. This may be temporary, so please try again later. Katryne
Did you create a data base at your hosting provider ?
tngrlkrz
As Katryne indicates, ensure you have followed the complete installation instructions of TNG which includes creating the database on the host.
theKiwi
Ask your hosting provider what is causing the error. This step in the process comes before making the database connection, so it's not relevant whether or not a database has been created. Something is interfering with the ability to change the permissions on certain files and folders. The hosting provider should be able to answer that. Adri1
I created already thé database. But like theKiwi said, this proces is a step before thé connection to thé database.
John-ON
Adril1, I have the same error. Did you ever get this solved? John
Adri1
Sorry John-ON, but I couldn't solve it. I tried with other free hostingservices, but I got the same error. I managed it with humo-gen, but there is no install procedure after uploading the files. It seems that they block things when you try to install TNG after uploading (filezilla) the files. klooster
Hi Adri, I checked Infinityfree, the free version on the web, see screenprint. Installing TNG with what they promise ?? should be no problem. BUT Free is a relative word, in my experience there is allways a catch. ADC
You say in your initial post that you are trying to install TNG v13. The splash screen for InfinityFree says that it is running PHP v8.2. If you look at the table here: https://tng.lythgoes.net/wiki/index.php/TNG_versions you will see that the maximum PHP version you can run for TNG v13 is 7.4, 8.0 or 8.1 depending on which sub-version you have. You will need TNG v14 if you cannot change the PHP version down from v8.2. PS: There may be other errors of course, but this one will stop you running v13 anyway.
