I was discussing the addition of different internment options. Buried and Cremated didn't seem to work for me. I was able to beat through some coding and get it to work. But, I have not clue how to package a MOD.... I used Version 11.1.1 files I modified admin_editperson.php and getperson.php. admin_editperson.php getperson.php Additional files that will probably also require that same code changes in admin_editperson.php are as follows admin_newperson.php admin_newperson2.php admin_updateperson.php Changes in admin_editperson.php start at line #469 and in getperson.php and line #179 The changes to admin_edit.php allow the TNG_People table column [burialtype] to use other than just "0" or "1" Theoretically at least 10 possible choices could be coded and possibly more depending upon the type of field [burialtype] is. The problem would be the amount of radio buttons on the edit page. I also realized that the idea of an "Urn" as a default for Cremated, or different image for no marker, etc... would have to be coded elsewhere. The headstone that appears once the death and place of burial fields are completed arise from the "Submit Headstone Photo" mod. Perhaps the author of that Mod could allow different images for the different burial types? Or is there a way to associate the image with the 'burialtype' using a <img src="urn.gif" alt="Urn" width="42" height="42"> statement in getperson.php? Hello, I am using version 10.1.3 template 13 and I installed a forum and now I need to link to the newly created forum, that's where I become lost. I would like to add the word "FORUM" across the top beside where "Dad's Side" & "Mom's Side" links are located. I would like for the link to match those two links as those are blue in color and turn white with mouse over. Could someone with this knowledge lend me a helping hand? My website is located at http://leverette-family-history.us/index.php as you can see I have a link to my Guestbook and Forum in the Welcome section but I am not happy with that. I would like to move the guestbook link to the top as well. Any help you guys/gals can offer me will be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance Jeff

Hi, I updated from TNG8 to TNG11 and would like to update the Geocode Assist Mod as well, seeing in the Wiki that version 10 of the Geocode Assist Mod has successfully been installed in TNG11. When attempting to import a DOM source file for an 1820 U.S. federal census, Census Plus reported that it could not find a column label for the field "Suffix" found in the ancestry.com data. folks, I'm doing the Kloosterman integration of TNG and WP with a slight twist. I had already installed wp in it's own directory, rather than root before I started this integration. as such, I left it this way. I figured I'd simply have to modify the WPTNG-topmenu.php file to reflect the fact that wp has it's own subdirectory. below is what my WPTNG-topmenu.php file looks like. <?php require ("../wp/wp-load.php"); get_header (); ?> I'm getting the below errors. The login seems to be created fine but when I actually try to login to my site, I get the following message: "You're Session has ended". The software won't let me access any pages after this happens. It was fine Sunday and not working Monday. The ability to keep administrative notes may exist but I haven't found it yet. Perhaps there is a Mod somewhere I missed? I want to keep notes of my 'conventions' (see list of some below) WITHIN the website, view-able only to me. I know I can keep them handy on a stick, flash drive, hard drive etc. but it would be so convenient if they were in the administration area and I could quickly click on these 'reminders to self.' Some of my conventions - basically instructions to myself for smooth organization and management of the site - include: Image Prep: Steps to preparing, resizing and uploading images to site Biographies: How to create and attach to individuals Albums: Grouping and organizing photos and documents into single subject or event Display and Font preferences: How I want bios., essays, notes etc. to appear on the site Surname and Family Organization: How I organize and label families and filenames List of Genealogical terms I need to know Troubleshooting Results: A record of issues solved by me, tech support or others And other similar topics. It only needs to be text, a 'wordpad' even. It does NOT need to be attached to people or places, etc. It would simply be my personal TNG operating manual. This would be such a handy feature for me!! Does it exist? Any ideas for a workaround WITHIN the site? Thanks! Margie Bailey

Before I dig too deep in to my issue I thought I would ask. I just upgraded to PHP 5.6.28 a week a go. I did not check mt tng site at the time so I am not sure if that casued my issue but now all I get is the plain white screen. Will tng10 handle php 5.6.2? Is there a method I can use to view all individuals using a specific "Other Event"?

I have version 10.1.3 installed. When I try to enter a new place, I get a javascript error regarding the Google Maps API key and a Google Map is displayed for 2 seconds and disappears and then the console error message is displayed. It seems that version 10.1.3 does not support entering a API key. Is there a fix for this problem?

I love the random photo display on the main page of Template 8. Can I alter Template 13 to do this, and if so, how?

Is there a way to change the order of the list of events under a person's name or profile? For example, in the screen shot of one of my ancestors below, it shows his name first, followed by his birth and christening date & place, then his gender, followed by custom events such as moves, censuses, immigration, emigration, his FamilySearch ID, then his death and burial date and place, followed by his person ID. If possible, I'd like to clean this up a little so that the order looks like the following: 1 - Name 2 - Gender 3 - FamilySearch ID or Person ID, etc. 4 - Birth 5 - Christened 6 - Custom events such as moves, census, emigration, immigration, etc. 7 - Death 8 - Burial This would look a little cleaner and would keep the timeline of events in his life starting with birth all the way through death and burial together vs. interspersing the Gender and FamilySearch ID in between events. While there is another thread that is similar called "Sorting Events" that has to do with "Customer Events", I am looking for a way to control the order of all the events under a person's profile.

Hey guys could someone explain what is it I did wrong to update to tng10.1.3? Mod Manager Options are almost all blank. See attached. Also there is an error on the admin page that sometime shows up. I changed Select PHP Version in cpanel to 5.6 but it still shows an error or errors. Does anyone have any ideas what is it that is wrong on the aministration page within tng to cause this. My very basic site has been running fine for a few months (Template 10) and now I want to add some custom content. I have been playing with adding 3 "history pages" to the 3 default links in the Features section. I'd like to know where to look (Forum, Wiki article, etc) for help addressing the following issue: My site is public but I want the 3 Features sections to each be private - that is, a visitor must sign in to each area separately as the information in those sections (the history pages) will pertain to DNA matches and specific surnames. I believe this has likely been asked before and just need a way to find the conversations, as my searches for them so far have been ineffective.

I have recently installed an SSL and moved my website to https:// . One of the first things I did was to create a new site map using the Create Site Map Mod. That seemed to be accepted OK but I have recently been watching a number of "soft 404" errors being reported on the Google Search Console. Some of these are positive (and understandable) as https:// is unforgiving of wrongly composed or abandoned links whereas http:// just simply ignored them. (As an example, I wrote a link back in 2011 missing off the .php which was completely ignored all these years before the recent change) My question though concerns a whole raft of errors which the Google console is reporting around the format of results attributable to placesearch.php. As an example: placesearch1.php?&psearch=Leicester%2C+Leicestershire&offset=450&tree=&page=16 The reported error is: The target URL doesn't exist, but your server is not returning a 404 (file not found) error. Learn more Your server returns a code other than 404 or 410 for a non-existent page (or redirecting users to another page, such as the homepage, instead of returning a 404). This creates a poor experience for searchers and search engines. However, clicking on the full link brings up a TNG page entitled "Leicester%2C Leicestershire" and underneath - no results found. If I go to my website's Place List and enter "Leicester, Leicestershire" I am presented with a list of 293 results. It looks as if Googlebot is objecting to the %2C it sees. Is this something which requires a code change in placesearch.php or is there a way to prevent googlebot from crawling for results from placesearch.php Cheers Alan
