thewillistree
I noticed a few days ago that my pedigree.php pages are taking a very long time to load - but only when there are boxes involved, so basically in standard, compact and box views. Ahnentafel and Media views load quick as you like. And the descendant and relationship functions work fine.I've tried re-uploading the pedigree.php file to my hostserver but its still the same.See this descendant versus this pedigree....Anyone any suggestions? BobA
Paul,Is this happening across all major browsers? In IE7 - for a 4 generational Descendancy chart, standard mode is about a 5 second draw time. Compact is about 3.5-4.0 seconds. Getting the individual tab and original page rendered is about 6 seconds to begin with.I have about 3500 people in my database. Hopefully having that comparison helps you in determining if you actually have a potential problem....

arnold
Not sure what you mean...?Paul,Go to Administration/Utilities where you will see a list of all of your Tables. You have three options: Optimize, Back up, and Restore. Click on the hard-to-see white "Help for this area" for additional information.Arnold

thewillistree
Sorry guys - I've optimised the tables in Admin/Utilities - but it doesn't seem to have made any difference, as Brett noted, the charts aren't loading at all now.... theKiwi
The not loading usually indicates a problem with the XML feed that drives those charts. For the 2 links you gave, the descendant chart works fine, but the pedigree chart won't load.http://www.thewillistree.me.uk/genealogy/p...mp;tree=WILLIS1shows what is being sent to the chart, and that "seems" to be OK. If you "View Source" on that you'll see the xml data that was sent. In your case I can't see a problem with it - it ends correctly - often the problem is that an illegal character causes the feed to truncate which gives the "Loading..." message, but yours ends.I'd suggest writing to Darrin and include that pedigree link so he can take a look at it and see what the problem might be.Roger

Ken Roy
Thanks Roger,I'll get in touch with Darrin and see what he suggests...PaulPaul,If you look at the generated source for the pedigree page, it has a second page head </head><!DOCTYPE HTML PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD HTML 4.01 Transitional//EN"><html><head><head><link rel="shortcut icon" href="http://www.thewillistree.me.uk/favicon.ico"> <style>after the TNG page heading which I am sure is confusing the browsers. Looks like it was added by your favicon.ico code
