Dear All

I'm looking to verify my site (www.achau.co.uk) with Google Webmaster by adding a meta tag

I've ben told to "Copy the meta tag listed below and paste it in your site's home page in the first <head> section of the page, before the first <body> section.

<meta name="verify-v1" content="VJfXZ9pXhYEbZouOMsQ4D08lhi7KykYMC2xi3YmzU5w=" />"

Could you tell me wehere exactly within TNG I should paste this

Many thanks

Huw

Huw,

You'll want to paste that into your index.php or index.html file (whichever one you are using (found under Administration, Setup, Configuration, general Settings, Site Design and Definition, in the "Home Page:" setting.) The file should be located in the path listed in the "Genealogy URL:" setting.

I would recommend modifying both the index.php and the index.html -- in case you decide to switch over to the other one at some point in the future.

Also, be sure to make backup copies of the files BEFORE you begin modifying them.

Many thanks. Google WebMaster suggest the following placement:

<HTML>

<HEAD>

<TITLE>Your Title</TITLE>

<META name="verify-v1" content="String_we_ask_for">

</HEAD>

<BODY>

Index.htm mirrors the above, however, I cannot find the appropriate section in index.php.

However, I've had a go at editing index.php but Google WebMaster doesn't recognise the inserted tag.

Have you got any suggestions?

Thanks

Huw
