Below are the stats for my site.814 Visits5,469 Pageviews6.72 Pages/Visit36.98% Bounce Rate00:06:36 Avg. Time on Site91.01% % New VisitsI keep a close watch on bounce rate and the the traffic received from various sources. My traffic has been down this month and I'm currently trying to determine if this is is just a normal variation or if a trend is starting. I've seen a drop in Yahoo and MSN traffic that may have been caused by a recent hack of my site.My bounce rate usually stays below 25% but does creep up when traffic and new visitors increase.Steve Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

The two PDFs explain the changes in some detail.A month or two ago I met with some people at Omniture. They purchased two of their major competitors in this space. If you have a GA account, it has a text file already generated for you that you can use.GA should also incorporate data from previous time periods - there really should be no interruption of data flow. I just can't seem to get mine to work. I had an error or two in the code this past week, but the files up on my site should now work. GA says it is "Receiving Data", so I assume the code is "working", but it reports that only two or three people visited my site in the last week. Smack Posted January 18, 2008 Report Share Posted January 18, 2008 FYI - After I sent an email to GA support, the code on my web pages started working. So for some reason, GA wasn't collecting data for a few days although the code was correct... Go figure As far as where to put the code, and as Steve and others suggested, I placed the code in the footer.html file and the index.php page.
