firetruckred
I'm realtively new with all things genealogy and TNG and was reading a book that suggested I start a research log similar to the correspondence log found here http://www.ancestry.com/trees/charts/corre...mp;o_xt=1029688Does TNG have anything like this? It is such a basic element to research. This has to be on the top of the list for the next version

I'm able to log my activities and flag each entry in order to categorize them all. Pretty slick.
tea2weeds
Has anyone come up with a research log? I am new to TNG and this post has been out there a while. I noticed my research log info in RootsMagic will export in the gedcom file, but don't see where it goes anywhere in TNG. I'd love to see ideas some may have come up with. Personally I think the RM research log is ok...but find it extremely tedious to add the to-do list items for each new person. I would really love to see a todo list we could just check items off to add to a todo list - such as birth, death, burial and the applicable census records for an individual and have it add the items to the list for me. I love having the to-do lists available by repository when I go to the archive, but they're outdated almost immediately after they're generated. Having some better reports, particularly dynamic ones that link to the people would be awesome. I know...dreaming... but I could really use some better research tools. I would love to have better tools for researching my personal projects as well as tracking info for clients. Trudy
Chris Lloyd
Trudy You may find this tool useful: http://www.gensmarts.com/ I have found it very good at automating "to Find" lists! Will also search for you.
tea2weeds
Thanks Lloyd, I've heard of it but haven't looked that deep at it. I was hoping to find one that tied in with my data, but I'll check it out. I appreciate your response.
