Morgan Posted July 8 Report Share Posted July 8 I'm not sure if this is an issue with the most recent update but I am now no longer able to post long notes under an individual or family. It will not allow me to save them. I haven't had this problem in the past and previously have been able to save notes that we're incredibly long. Does anyone have an idea how to fix? RickM Posted July 8 Report Share Posted July 8 What php version is your site running under? Did you perform the database upgrades when updating from ?? to 15.0.5? Is any error message listed in the log files? Are there any Mods installed that might interact with the notes field? I have tested and have added a 4500 character long note, with no probs! Insert Children Gender insert_children_gender_v15.0.0.0.cfg 15.0.0.0 Installed [Options] 6. Show All Family When I try to add from the Notes section on the Admin page I get this error Forbidden You don't have permission to access this resource. RickM Posted July 9 Report Share Posted July 9 Can you add say a one or two word note?? Or nothing at all?? Maybe try upgrading php version to 8.4 if possible.. I took similar actions for my other websites (outside TNG), otherwhise they were blocked and no longer accessible. In the 2000s, when I started publishing online, I spent days—just as much time as I did writing—formatting my content and ensuring my websites complied with standards, all with the goal of reaching readers and engaging with them. There were plenty of tutorials explaining the techniques, particularly for search engine optimization (SEO), so that my content would be properly indexed and easily found on search engines. I also made sure my pages were properly accessible across all devices. I took notes, put what I learned into practice, and connected with my audience. We called it SEO, or search engine optimization. A quarter of a century later, I now spend only 10% of my time online creating content. And 90% fending off mechanical invaders (i.e., the various bots that are choking the web) in an effort to connect my sites to real humans. Whereas I used to passionately seek ways to make my content elegant and accessible, today I explore—with the energy of desperation—every technique, trick, and plugin so that my sites can catch a little breath and continue to exist—simply to exist. At times, my sites start to breathe again and almost reverse the bot-to-human ratio, and three hours later, it’s back to square one. It’s an uneven battle. This invasion of bots almost discourages me from publishing online. As it is, 99% of the results in search engines are bot-generated responses telling you what’s best for you. And if by chance your site is mentioned, it’s only in passing—without ever providing the link, just plagiarizing the content by changing the title and description to make it sound more commercial. Well, when I say “commercial,” I don’t mean to your advantage, mind you! In this situation, what’s the point of SEO anymore? There are no good bots left—they’re all vampires.
