Export of TNG from live website to MAMP localhost

Per the instructions in the TNG Wiki, I downloaded and installed MAMP to my Win11 PC.  I created and downloaded an archive of my TNG installation from my subdomain which resides under my main domain.  I unzipped it into the htdocs folder in the Mamp local directory.  I created an archive of the SQL database and downloaded it.  Following the instructions from the Wiki tutorial I created the Project linking to the unzipped file from my subdomain.  [It shows up in Phpadmin with no tables -- an empty db].  I then attempted to import the sql db but get an inorrect parameter error.
One possible complication -- my subdomain and sql files are approx 1.4GB.

I need help -- the whole purpose of the local TNG install is to enale me to convert gedcoms and do massive cleanups locally before uploading pristine data to my webhoast.  I am on a non-commercial webplan that causes massive bandwidth/server minute overruns on a regular basis.

Can anyone help?  (The free non-commervial Mamp service does not indicate any limits on file sizes)

Is the db you created in phpMyAdmin the same name? Can you perhaps post the error details from phpMyAdmin?

Also, what do you mean by

The only thing you should be importing into phpMyAdmin is the sql export...it sounds like you are trying to import all your site files into it....which isn't needed.

I don't use MAMP any more as I was having issues with it on my Mac, but take a look at this (that I wrote) that is written for Mac users but the idea is the same as what you would do on a PC...
