bot? ip-208-109-8-195.ip.secureserver.net

Does anyone know if ip-208-109-8-195.ip.secureserver.net is a bot? I have searched google for ip-208-109-8-195.ip.secureserver.net and traced it back to GoDaddy (my site is hosted here) but that is all that I can find out.

Probably, and since secureserver.net redirects to a reseller website, that would make me a little suspect.

I suppose one would need to ask these questions:

What is the bot looking at?

(just following links or something specific)

What does the bot list as its agent (in web server logs)?

Does it or will it follow robot.txt file or ignore it?

Depending on the answers to these questions would determine my course.

But generally, I would probably block it.

Lately it has been pedigree and descendancy charts but it seems to be looking almost daily at something, whether it is following links or something specific, I can't tell. I am not employing the use of robots.txt file on my site as this time. Since I am out of town this week and using my daughter's computer, I will just include it in the list of excluded host names for now and see what happens.
