stevewd259
Hi there, I have noticed that after I have uploaded my GEDCOM that instead of being a seperate entry (like it is in any most other software), cause of death is attached to a box under the Death. This is brilliant and looks a heck of a lot better than any other software and is much more intuative. I have come accross a slight problem. The box doesn't seem to take that many characters and in some cases it stops mid-cause. The box doesn't seem to go on and to another line if it needed to. Some causes of death could be quite long especially if there's a Post Mortem (in Scotland) and there's a lot more to the cause of death. I also can't see where I can edit the cause of death on the edit screen. Is it possible to make the "Cause" box take more characters and expandable in case of multiple lines. GOGGS
The standard events like DEAT or death are stored in the tng_events table. The width of the "cause" field is 90 characters; I imagine you could change that in the structure view with phpMyAdmin. I'm guessing that the import process will clip the data to whatever the field size is... When you try manually to add something longer than 90 characters, you get an error from the database.
