CPI - 1830 and 1840 US censuses

I have two questions about these.

First, when I import a transcript from Ancestry, the numbers of people do not populate the different categories. That's fine, and I add them myself. I just wanted to make sure that's the expected behavior.

Second, these are two-page censuses. Do I add a second page, with the numbers of slaves, the same way that a second page would be added in later censuses if the family flowed over to a second page? And so, if I wanted to do that, should I use the manual import for the first page to be able to add the second page?

I am using censusplus_15.0.2.14 b1, with TNG 15.0.2.

Thanks - Derrick

That does not sound correct.  Can you attach the DOM Source, so I can look at it.

Two page censuses require that you import both pages

attached, here.

And, then, I won't use the Ancestry import for the two-page censuses anyway.

And I just added this 1820 census, and it didn't populate, though the IDs linked up just fine. Each row has a hyperlink "add" at the end of it to enter the data, which I thought might have been the expected behavior. - Derrick

Derrick,

On the 1820 Census after you have linked the person(s) you want for that census, there should be a button for Create Summary that when clicked allows you to enter the summary information.

I will look at the census that spans two pages tomorrow

Derrick,

If these are 2 page census, once you have the image displayed in Firefox for

https://www.ancestry.com/imageviewer/collections/8058/images/4409525_00028

you can change the URL to get the previous or next image by incrementing the image ID down or up depending which page you want and then capture the previous or next DOM source
