Generate thumbnails doesn't work

My next problem
I use TNG 13.1.2 and template 14

As shown on the picture below, there are a lot of photos which can not generate thumbnails.
I have searched for help in the Wiki but I could not find any solution.
As you can see the "original not found". And these not found photos seems to be located in one of my subfolders. Photos in the top folder Photo is no problem,

I have my photos in the Photo and Headstone folders. And the Photo-folder has different subfolders for different categories (USA, Philippines, Families etc). Same as on my local computer.

I have entered these local path in Setup->Configuration->Import settings (see picture)

I have used different methods to upload the photos in to the subfolders.
By loaded with the webhost upload
By Media>>>Upload
As I see it it doesn't make any difference for TNG finding the photos.

So my question is of course:
How do I get TNG to find the photos in the subfolders?

I think the path is incorrect because the original isn't found.

You most likely can't comma separate multiple paths on one line.

Could you send a snapshot of your Setup >> Configuration >> General Settings >> Paths and Folders or check that yourself.

As far as I know there shouldn't be multiple directories on the line for photo's.

This is from the help for Setup>>Configuration>>Import setting
I am really not sure what's the point for the path specification here
How is TNG using it?
How do I get TNG to find the photos in the subfolders?

Local Photo Path(s)

Enter the base path or paths (separate multiple entries with commas) where photos are located on your home computer. It should correspond to the TNG Photos folder on your web site. In other words, if the photos on your computer are located in "C:\MyGenealogy\MyPhotos", that is what you should enter here. If some of your photo links refer to that location in relative terms (ie, just "MyPhotos"), include the relative path as a multiple entry. If some of your photos reside in subfolders of this location and you want to preserve that structure on your web site, do not include the subfolders in this path. If you want all photos to go into the same location (the TNG Photos folder), leave this field blank and check "Import file name only" for the last option on this page.

My rootpath is empty and underneath the Default rootpath is mentioned,

What happens if you clear your rootpath then Save and Exit.

Clear your browsercache and look at the rootpath again. Is it still the same rootpath or has it changed?

If it has changed try to create the thumbnails again and see if that works.

I was able to create a thumbnail only by editing a single photo like shown below.

Apperently TNG isn't able to look into the sub-directories when generating thumbnails via the thumbnail tab or via the generate from original option.

Is anyone else able to generate thumbnails of mediafiles in a sub-directories of media files while using the create from original option ot the thumbnails tab?

For your bilder you only need to enter the top level folder - you don't need to enter bilder  and then the subfolders under it. Then the imported path will contain the subfolders at the start of the path.

So only 1 entry per category should be all you need.

This shows the setup I have. So when it comes to importing photos, where a photo might have a path like

image.png

In the GEDCOM file - the import settings above would take all of that path up to "..../photos/" and discard it, so importing the "people/1851_John_Harvey/John_Harvey_2.jpg" part of it - i.e. the sub-folders and the file name.

The thumbnail will be generated in the same folder as the image - i.e. in "people/1851_John_Harvey" alongside the original.

You can if there's a need to, but not where the top folder is the same.

Until I rearranged my hierarchy some years ago I had 2 different paths entered in the line for photos to force two different folders on my computer to both be assigned to "photos".

Are all those photo's located on your FTP server?

Can you generate a thumbnail when you use the edit media option for a single photo?

Yes I can

Not all photos are located on on my webhost server since I haven't uploaded all my folder from my local computer

But some of them are of course uploaded
