stuckagain
I have been using this mod with no problem on TNG 14.0.5. I upgraded Darrin's new patch. All OK except I now get a Google map error instead of OSM. I upgraded to mod V14.0.5.9c_p and still can't see maps and get the attached error message in Mod Manager. Is it the mod, or is it me? Ken Roy
@stuckagain Your OpenStreetMap mod does not appear to be installed. The mod modifies some of the Google Map code in TNG. If you set the key to OSM before the mod is install Google will return an error because that is not a valid key to access the Google Maps. You may want to uninstall your mods before installing the patch2.zip file. Alternatively, you need to show us that error is being shown on the Status screen as to why the mod is showing a Cannot Install status
stuckagain
Thanks Ken. So to double-check, I should: uninstall the mod, then clear the "OSM" map key in TNG settings (Admin > Set-up > Map settings > Map key) then reinstall the OpenStreet Map mod then if the OpenStreet Map mod seems properly reinstalled revert the OSM setting to the TNG map key field. If this doesn't work, I'll take multiple screenshots so I can share the whole mod manager error screen.
William Watson
Thank you for creating and updating the mod! I just downloaded, unzipped, uploaded, and installed the mod (Openstreetmap_v14.0.5.9c), then added "OSM" to the maps key. The maps load correctly. There is one tiny nit The character used for "zoom out" appears to have the incorrect code: Here's the page where I grabbed that screen shot: https://hatcherfamilyassn.com/getperson.php?personID=I83&tree=WacHatch Thanks again! bayanne
I have been able to partially install the OpenStreetMod but on discussion with Darrin he thinks that it may be a permissions problem. I have a long list in the "Status v14 Mods" box. Do you wish me to copy that here? Thanks
Ken Roy
@bayanne Mods typically do not partially install. You need to look for the error that shows in the status column. Do you have the patch2.zip file installed? Did you uninstall the mod before installing the patch2.zip? The status column should show Bad Target or missing source

The mod had been uninstalled before installing the patch2.zip file. I will attach the relevant files for you to peruse and comment on. Thanks for responding. Ken Roy
@bayanne Mod shows partially installed because some files were copied. Status screen shows Bad Target on 3 modules: admin_mapconfig.php genlib.php admin_places.php If you did your own upgrade to TNG 14.0.5, you could try Clean Up on the OpenStreetMap mod and anu other partially installed mods Uninstall all installed mods install the upgrade to 14.0.5 install patch2.zip reinstall your mods

I have already installed 14.0.5, how do I uninstall it, ditto for patch2.zip It was Darrin who copied over the files, as the whole issue with the problems with the Mod was beyond me. I feel that I am in waters too deep for me. It used to be so much simpler with the earlier versions of the Mod. Sorry Tony
Ken Roy
Tony, You do not need to uninstall 14.0.5 you can install the upgrade on top of the existing upgrade. Sorry, I do not have the time to do it. the mod has not changed. What changed was a security patch2 being released after the upgrade

I deleted the mod, using Mod Manager and manually deleted the CFG file and the mod config sub-folder using cpanel too. Cleared browser caches. Cleared TNG map key "OSM". Reinstalled the mod, following exactly the instructions at https://tng.lythgoes.net/wiki/index.php/OpenStreetMap#Installation. Attached is the error message I got after installing openstreetmap_v14.0.5.9c_p. I tried with and without the TNG map key setting of "OSM". and cleared the cache after both. It made no difference. I think I used the correct installation ZIP files, namely openstreetmap_v14.0.5.9c_p, but can I double-check I shouldn't have used openstreetmap_v14.0.5.9c. my system is running on TNG 14.0.5 with Darrin's patch installed. Any further help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Tony The error stopping the install is line 1116 of the mod .cfg file. It cannot find the correct location in file admin_mapconfig.php. Do you have any other mods that may affect the file admin_mapconfig.php? If yes, uninstall that mod and see if the error still exists. If no, copy a fresh admin_mapconfig.php from your TNG install files to overwrite the current admin_mapconfig.php. If the error goes try installing the Mod. If it does not come back with any further error messages for assistance.

The zoom in and out characters are hard coded in the Open Street Map ol.js script file as: u = void 0 !== r.zoomInLabel ? r.zoomInLabel : "+", c = void 0 !== r.zoomOutLabel ? r.zoomOutLabel : "–", Not sure why this would occur unless something was corrupted during the upload. You might try downloading the mod again and replace the ol.js file.
Alfonso Beccar
I had Darrin update my TNG last week. He also updated Open Street Map MOD. This is the one I have now: openstreetmap_v14.0.5.9c_p.cfg The problem I have run into is that even though I have selected "Satellite" as the default Map Type, it defaults to "Road Map". I can change individual maps within the individual's record to "Satellite"... but as default it does not work (even though, as you can see in the screenshot below, is shows as selected. Any thoughts? Thank you!

The setting in your screen shot is for Google maps. Go to mod manager and click OpenStreetMap then select Edit Options. Set the second option to true and click Update to display a satellite map. I have only one other map/location mod (the excellent Geocode Assistant). I uninstalled Open Streetmap and Geocode Assistant and overwrote the following TNG files from the latest 14.0.5.p from Darrin: admin_mapconfig.php admin_places.php genlib.php It needed all three to be restored to get OSM working again after Darrin's patch. Then I reinstalled the Geocode Assistant mod, and all is well with both mods. Suspecting a clash with the two mods, I looked at the 'files modified' part of the Geocode Assistant documentation and this only mentions a change to globabllib.php. So perhaps the cause of my problem isn't a clash with the Geocode Asst mod after all? Anyway, all is now working again - many thanks for your kind diagnosis and advice. Much appreciated. stuckagain
Yes, that reflects my experience ... TNG v14.0.5 & OSM v14.0.5.9c works great. Applying TNG's 14.0.5 Google security patch patch broke OSM for me. It is all working again - all good. :.)
Katryne
The patch 2 is not only for the google map thing, it includes also a security correction. Once you have applied apply the patch, the osm map mod should be the one with a little p in its name.

When i go to settings i see that the system can't install the mod It says name of mod is missing. version unknown. can't install because "Mod updates is needed", something that the mod is not found.. What do i wrong? Must i first install another module? I have installed ysterday the new version of TNG and i had no mods installed. Thanks, Fred
