Ken Roy
MySQL 3.1 is an old client version. TNG requires 5.7 if I remember correctly. Quote Link to comment
crashar
This was reported a while ago in one of the mailing lists. Darren seemed to indicate it was not anything to worry about (at least on with the Simply Hosting provider). >>> I don't think there's any need to worry there. TNG is checking for a >>> version of MySQL that's 5.5 or higher for both the MySQL client and >>> server, but apparently Simply Hosting is now reporting a client >>> version lower than that. Everything still works, so I'm sure it's >>> just a reporting issue somewhere. I'm corresponding with Simply >>> Hosting right now to figure out which number we should actually be >>> looking for there. Quote Link to comment
Rob Severijns
Hi Marla, If you login at your ISP account there should be a menu where you can set the version of MySql you want to use. If you don't know where to find it you can contact your ISP and ask them to tell you where it can be changed or ask them to do it for you. I also noticed an issue with your backup folder. Darrin said not to worry about this and just leave it alone. It won't affect anything. What is wrong with my backup folder? I am not aware of it. Quote Link to comment

Marla
ok Thank you for showing but I don't know how to backup Quote Link to comment
crashar
That should only be a problem if you use the Admin utilities to backup your tables. Quote Link to comment
Ron Yates
Hello Maria, I am not your best source on setting up the folders; creating folders is integral to the installation process. You can also do so later. Either approach should be done with an acute understanding of the process and expected outcome. Speaking from bitter experience I encourage that frequent backups be performed and also saved routinely on your computer or wherever you store your critical documents and files. You may be using an alternative backup other than TNG admin. The issue remains, if not backed up and under your control, all of your hard work could be gone with one catastrophic error, when the ISP is not paid for hosting or a hack. Ken Roy
The Data Protection Category on the TNG Wiki provides several articles that might be worth investigating. Quote Link to comment
