AD-6 SkyRaider
I'm trying to add and edit events. First, marriage. I have went to that person --> "edit existing person" but marriage isn't an option that I see. I go to "other events" and there's plenty to chose from, but none just say "marriage." I would also like to add my own event names in the future, so is there a way to create a totally new event? Just as an example, "First Rode A Bike" or something. Is there a way to do that? AD-6 SkyRaider
Yes! Exactly! How do I do that? It won't let me type. It's just a drop down with options.
edglimited
Go to Admin >> Custom Event Types and click on the "new tab" at the top. Associate the new event with an Individual or a Family. Don't worry about a tag. Drew..

edglimited
As an FYI, if you want to delete what you have created, so your menu does'nt look messy, you can delete it. Go to Admin >> Custom Event Types and click on the "search" at the top. Type in the name of the event you created, check the "select" box and click the box with the red cross. AD-6 SkyRaider
Will this delete it across all or just the individual? I have a lot of cleaning up to do from my import.
edglimited
Deleting it from Custom Event Types removes it from all.!!!
bhemph
To add a marriage, you have to go to the bottom of the person's edit page and add a partner/spouse. Then within the family you can add and edit marriage information.
windsurfer
When i go to admin i don't see custom events, i do see Event/Attribute Types but that won't allow me to add an event. I can't find where you got the image you show above that says custom event types. When i am in persons editing page and select Add new event the popup shows up but there are no options. theKiwi
Custom Events was used up to I think TNG14 Now it is Event / Attribute Types, but it should fill the same purpose Roger
windsurfer
So here is what i did. Selected Event/Attribute Types and created below, i did check the Select box but that just keeps being deselected when i open that window, i checked the Select box and hit Accept selected.. Then i go to a persons page to edit and select Add New beside Other Events/Attributes and i get the following window with just the blue square in the drop down, so i am not sure what i am doing wrong.
