"Help needed to make some major correction my gedcom database - using NotePad++ or TextPad."

Hi,

I hope someone here can help me.

I have now tried many times following various descriptions in Notepad++. Unfortunately, I have so far not succeeded in either of my two problems.

My first problem is that I want to change this line here:

1 NAME Steen Steensen /Blicher (Blicher)/

to this one here:

1 NAME Steen Steensen /Blicher/

(Note: Without the parentheses and the name inside the parentheses.)

My second problem is that I want to split this line here:

2 SURN Blicher (Blicher)

So, it becomes two lines looking like these here:

2 SURN Blicher

1 CAST Blicher

(Note: The last one without the parentheses.)

I have a large genealogical file with 470,000 people, and there are many of these changes in it.
So, if it is possible to do the changes at "once" times, it would be so great.

However, I am not familiar with coding in Notepad++ at all, so any help is appreciated!
