I'm not aware of any such mod but I did notice an article about Google Analytics recently.

Google Analytics will most likey be forbidden in the EU.

Apperently Google Analytics is sending personal data like user identifiers, ip-adressen en browserparameters to the US and that's not allowed according to EU laws.

Not sure what the current status is though.

I personaly would not use any tools that might effect privacy in a negative way.

Don't think my users would appreciate that.

I've used it for many years on my main website. I know at "my" end there is absolutely NO personal data available whatsoever.

My site is in Canada.

Jim,

Didn't mean to say you shouldn't use it.

It's just that Google Analytics is under investigation in the EU atm and has already been forbidden in Austria and that has implacations for the rest of the EU.

Here's an article about the subject: use of Google Analytics violates eu law Austrian authority rules

Since you're Canadian this doesn't effect you (yet)

If you have confidence in Google Analytics that's fine by me but EU forum members should be made aware of this before they start using Google Analytics for their Genealogy Website(s)

What they do with the information is entirely up to them of course.

Jim - if you have an analytics account and it's all set up, go to your Google dashboard and find the block of code it tells you to use, then copy that in its entirety and put it in the file meta.php below the closing ?> tag that is in that file.

It will then get included into all your TNG pages

Jim,

As an answer to your initial question this is what I found on the TNG wiki.

SEO for TNG Mod

Unfortunaly the mod hasn't been updated since TNG 8 and I'm not aware of any recent updates via other mods.

This mod allows site admins to configure the basic SEO settings for their sites. Specifically, it allows the configuration of:

  • Keywords
    • For the technically inclined, this will set the <meta name="Keywords" content="" /> tag in the <head> portion of the page.
  • Description
    • For the technically inclined, this will set the <meta name="Description" content="" /> tag in the <head> portion of the page.

It also allows the configuration of Google Analytics

This Mod is nothing to do with analytics, which is a measuring of who and what visits the various pages on a site.

Just for those who are interested in an alternative for Google Analytics.

I know there are several more but Simple Analytics is Europe based and fully GDPR compliant.

They don't use cookies or collect any personal data.

There's als a WP plugin available.

Not for free though but at least you won't pay with privacy.
