Rob Severijns
Michael, I hope you are using TNG 13.1 b2 on a test site. Since this is still a beta version bugs etc can happen. I'm currently waiting for the final release before I install 13.1. One of the testers might be able to help you and otherwise you need to report a bug to Darrin. Ken Roy
Michael, If you download a current version of the TNG 13.1 beta-2 files, if I remember correctly Darrin merged the fix in for the import but maybe not for the export. Alternatively, if I remember correctly, Darrin indicated you could use the js/dataimport.js from TNG 13.0.4 to resolve the import issue. Henk
Hello, I have installed V.13.1.2 and now I am unable to import a GEDCOM file. I ha e downloaded the full version of V.13 and selected js/dataimport to replace the file but that did not help. I tried looking for the V.13.0.4 version of the file as per the answer in this topic but could not find that version. Could someone please help? Thanks, Henk
Ken Roy
This is an old topic that pertained to a problem during TNG 13.1 beta testing. If you are unable to import a GEDCOM file you need to provide more information, such as what version of PHP you are running what version of MySQL you are running what program generated the GEDCOM
Henk
Hi Ken, thank you for your quick reply. I am unable to find my PHP and SQL version. I looked under Setup / Configuration and clicked Diagnostics but also here I get the HTTP error 500. Same error for for Import Settings. This is the first time I get this error. I am using TNG for many years without any problems. My GEDCOM is generated with GensDataPro. Thanks in advance. Kind regards, Henk
Ken Roy
Hi Henk, Are you running on a hosted site? or is this on a local computer. If on hosting service site, did you host recently change PHP version (you would have to ask them) Strange that you would get the error 500. Can you navigate any part of the Admin side of your site? If not, try to edit your config.php and change the $rootpath to $rootpath = ""; and see you can then access the Setup > Diagnostic screen Edited October 11, 2022 by Ken Roy
Henk
Hello Ken, I can execute all ADMIN stuff except Import/Export and under Setup I cannot execute Diagnostics and Import setting. The rest works fine. Kind regards, Henk
Ken Roy
Hello Henk, Can your hosting service tell you what level of PHP you are using. If you are using less than PHP 7 it is possible that TNG changed some code in both of those areas that no longer support PHP 5.6 or less. You could report the issue to Darrin in case something got changed incorrectly for your environment

Ken Roy
Hello Henk, You may also need to contact Darrin, since someone else opened a forum issue on import not working after their host made a change.

Henk
My service provider has downgraded PHP from 8.1. to 7.4 and now it all works. Thanks for your help Ken.
Ken Roy
Great! Thanks for letting us know. Some import issues for PHP 8 and 8.1 were fixed in TNG 13.1.2, however TNG 14 might be needed to fully support PHP 8.
