Cannot access public home page

Recommended Posts

Neophyte needs some help with an upgrade.  After upgrading from V12 to V13, I can access admin page but the public page at browngen.com shows up blank.  After viewing the upgrade video, I believe  I followed the directions correctly and even went back a second time to try the upgrade.  I cleared my cache and used a second browser and still have the same issue.

The Public Home link on my admin page points to: https://browngen.com/index.php .

I made no changes to the root path or config path.

Under Site Design and Definition, the Home page is listed as  index.php  and the URL shows as https://www.browngen.com/

Any advice from the experts in the community would be appreciated.

Darrel,

Is it an install without any Mod's and did you uninstall the Mod's before upgrading?

Try to go to the public homepage without any Mod's installed.

Still no luck? >> check your custom text file for any residue of Mod's and eventualy upload a new one.

Thanks, Rob, but I did not use any mods in V12, thus had no mods to remove before upgrading.

a blank page generally indicates a php issue.

Problem solved with the fantastic assistance of Rob Severijns.  He reviewed my site and fixed the problem, simple for him but frustrating for this newbie.

Thanks, Rob for your service to the TNG community.

Another newbie here, with I think the same problem.

I had been working in the admin pages for a few hours adding media etc, when all of a sudden, I couldn't access the public site of https://rykenrosenau.com/.  It defaulted to a standard out-of-the-box Wordpress page.

I tried changing templates, but that didn't work for me.

I can access the admin pages OK.

Going into the SiteGround File Manager, I can see that the index.php exists, as does default.php. But how do I resolve it if it is a PHP issue. Any assistance appreciated.

TNG Version: 13.0.4

Cheers, Paul
