toggle the thumb setting in the innermenu bar

Thanks Roger,

I did not know there were options to control this in the submit form.

Not sure why making the change in the Edit Option did not change the option in the connections form.

Hi all,

I've just published the 4a sub-version we discussed recently.

I finally decided not to change the mod option for displaying thumbs as I couldn't find the discussion conclusion...

Most of  the remaining discussed features are included, as well as multiple minor improvements.

Thank you all for testing and discussing!

Michał

Michal,

You already published 4a yesterday.  If this mod is different, should it not have been 4b?

Ken,  I checked and installed the files, and it is, as Michal notes, the same version 4a we were testing and discussing yesterday (just a few minor edit option text chgs were added).  I believe he hadn't published 4a until today, but had made it available on the forum for us to test.

I tried to change the colors of (P), (C), (S),  in the connections chart, no problem with:

# start change color bullets;
$text['pri'] = "(<span class=\'color:red; '>&#9733</span>)&nbsp;" ; # black star, bigger than &bull;
$text['par'] = "(<span class=\'color:#FF8A00;font-weight:bold;\'>p</span>)&nbsp;";
$text['chi'] = "(<span class='\color:#297A34;font-weight:bold;\'>c</span>)&nbsp;";
$text['spo'] = "(<span class=\'color:#555ADD;font-weight:bold;\'>s</span>)&nbsp;";
# end change color bullets;

BUT then the LEGEND :

Legend for diagrams: (★)  =Start Person; (P) =Parent; (C) =Child; (S) =Spouse;

HAS DISAPPEARED.

I tried several different codes with:

# legend for bullets
$legend = ['pri'=>'primary','par'=>'parent','chi'=>'child','spo'=>'spouse'];

But did no find a solution

Any idea how to solve that??

Michal,

And I am glad you didn't.  I think the  'conclusion' was I discovered it was my private issue, so consequently the need for testing tng_config setting went away.  I see the code lines are there, but commented out.  Hope it stays that way☺️ The 'bar/shadow' issue didn't occur in v3a however, so a bit puzzled with 'my' private mystery.

The reason is lack of \ closing class name.

Hi all,

Sorry I didn't read/write any messages today because I had "a day full of lectures" (I am retired but my University asked me to give a lecture to post-master students; 6 hours in total, and I'm still full of adrenaline ;) )

Thank you Ron for explaining me to Ken (I was scared of him)

Thanks for all comments and I've received !

Michał

Sorry I mistyped the class text on the forum, it is not the lack of the \ closing class name.

$text['pri'] = "(<span class=\'color:red;\'>&#9733</span>)&nbsp;"; # black star, bigger than &bull;
$text['par'] = "(<span class=\'color:#FF8A00;font-weight:bold;\'>p</span>)&nbsp;";
$text['chi'] = "(<span class=\'color:#297A34;font-weight:bold;\'>c</span>)&nbsp;";
$text['spo'] = "(<span class=\'color:#555ADD;font-weight:bold;\'>s</span>)&nbsp";

BUT then the LEGEND :

Cess, don't beat me, it's not your fault  (apart from \ and ; in tthe post)

In the program code I'm checking if the bullet string is not too long. and eliminate if it is. ( to have the legend fairly long <25 characters.)

I should rather check visible characters only, then your change is accepted.

To quick recovery edit connections.php line 240 and replace  25  with  much bigger number (1000).

I'll find a definitive solution.

Michal,

Why not simply change the starting person icon to the star, so that not so many users need to override your bullet

After putting 1000 and changing texts to

$text['pri'] = "(<span style='color:red;'>&#9733</span>)&nbsp;"; # black star, bigger than &bull;
$text['par'] = "(<span style='color:#FF8A00;font-weight:bold;'>p</span>)&nbsp;";
$text['chi'] = "(<span style='color:#297A34;font-weight:bold;'>c</span>)&nbsp;";
$text['spo'] = "(<span style='color:#555ADD;font-weight:bold;'>s</span>)&nbsp;";

it works for me.

I would rather use style and not class, and simple '  (without \)

Yes, in the version I finally published I did it (for all languages).

Well the colors are working but not the legend with me, see printscreen.

PS: its not a WP-theme problem, I checked with WP disabled, Legends for diagrams not visible, after putting line 240 to 1000

Sorry Michal,

I have not looked the latest version you published on the TNG Wiki since I already had v4a from the forum.

I am sorry. I don't know how to manage the naming of the "beta" versions I share here in the forum, and the version finally published on the Wiki. I wanted to keep the names unchanged to avoid multiple changes in the cfg and php code. It seems that the beter way could be make changes every sub-sub-version. What is you advice?
