FTM GEDCOM Media Import

Hi,

I am new to TNG.

I am trying to import the media from my FTM application using the GEDCOM file. 

After import, I see a references to the media attached to the person I imported, but I do not see the actual photo. 

I followed the steps in the documentation around set up of folder structure. 

There is a step in the instruction that states that you are supposed to upload the media to the photos folder. 

When I export the GEDCOM "with media", is the media not included in the GEDCOM file?

If I have to export/import the media as a separate process, do I have to link each media back to the respective person once it is in TNG? This would be very time consuming. 

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Jeff,
     In the GEDCOM file, it is only the path to the media that is exported.  The actual media file has to be uploaded separately, but as long as the paths are defined correctly in the import settings then TNG will understand the local path in the GEDCOM and how it is mapped to the path within TNG and link the media files to the people/events.
