manofmull 0 Report post Posted December 27, 2020 I'm sure someone will reply to your question, but why not add Wikipedia as a new Media Type (Collection) as I do?
RichardSwetenham 0 Report post Posted December 28, 2020 This is an interesting idea, but I am not sure how far I can implement it. I keep my main tree on Ancestry, and in accordance with Darrin Lythgoe’s advice, sync with FTM and export the GEDCOM from there to get functioning links to the media which FTM extracts from Ancestry and puts on my hard drive. I apply the method recommended by Bob Cumberbatch of doing a backup, clearing all tables, restoring the Media table, importing the GEDCOM and uploading new media by FTP. That gives me functioning links from persons to media, but by default it all seems to be called Histories, and I would need to reclassify it all by hand to exploit the Media Types properly. Perhaps I have missed something, but for the time being that is still on my ToDo list.
