mkmcgold Posted October 23, 2020 Report Share Posted October 23, 2020 I recently upgraded to v. 13 + the patch. I am unable to update a person, update a place, perform a name search. The name search problem was also present in version 12.? but am not sure whether the others were as I haven't needed to update in a while. When I attempt to add a family a box pops up asking whether I want to save changes (even thought I haven't made any), I select save and the page becomes blank. When I attempt to update a person, when I select save, the screen goes blank. When I attempt to add a place, when I select save, the screen goes blank. In most cases, after waiting a while, if I click the "backup" arrow the changes have been made but I can never add a family. Problem seems to be with admin_updateperson and admin_update place. RickM Posted October 24, 2020 Report Share Posted October 24, 2020 There has been some issues with adding people etc.. I understood the patch files should have resolved them. When you look at the new family or place etc, have you noticed the ID numbers?? if they look different to what others are then I would suggest you first go to Setup >> Configuration >> General Settings / Miscellaneous and change the Re-use deleted IDs: to NO, Save the change and try again to add a new family, person, or place. You may want to delete and recreate the info that has caused issues, it will ensure the ids remain the same format as prior entries before the TNG Upgrade. mkmcgold Posted October 24, 2020 Author Report Share Posted October 24, 2020 I did as you suggested and changed Re-use ID's to no, upon trying to save it the screen went blank at update_config. Ken Roy Posted October 24, 2020 Report Share Posted October 24, 2020 White Screens of Death (WSoD) are most often caused by syntax errors. See Blank Pages for the different causes. I think that asking to save changes is normal behavior when adding a family. Note that I import all my data, so that might have change in TNG v13 with the new buttons added. As Rick said if you have mods that change the code in that area, you could try uninstalling them one at a time to see which mod might be causing a problem. XerxX Posted October 24, 2020 Report Share Posted October 24, 2020 Hi all, I get a blank screen when I update a person or a place when I use Firefox for Mac v 80.0 (64-bits) or 81.0 (64-bits). and "Return to prev page"(?) I found out that it happened when I got my new Mac some six weeks ago and I had to download Firefox. I've got an older Mac Air with an older version of FF and it works. Chrome (Mac) works okay also.
