Strathglass
First time installing locally, doing full version V13 with Wampserver 3.2.3 X64. DB user created OK in phpMyAdmin (second image), then when I run step 7 it hangs and yet a bunch of tables are created (first image). I tried steps 8 and 9 - they also hang (step 10 is OK). I found out that not all tables required were created: attempting to access the site (locahost/familytree) gives an error: Quote Query: SELECT * FROM tng_mediatypes ORDER BY ordernum, displayTable 'chisgad20201006.tng_mediatypes' doesn't exist Any ideas what to do to resolve this? Ken Roy
Is the Database Username specified in Step 6 root and the Database Password null, or did you use the tngadmin user you created with the correct password? Did Step 6 return the Verified and Connected message? (if I remember correctly). Step 6 must return that it can communicate with your database before you proceed to Step 7. I do not know what the % means instead of localhost for your tngadmin user. So if tngadmin does not work to complete your full install use the root user with no password. You can always update your Admin > Setup > General Settings later
Strathglass
Hi Ken: Step 6 did successfully indicate that the connection was made (and message shows in green text). (Message is: "Information saved, connection verified!") In that step I gave a host name ("localhost"), DB name, DB port and socket were left null, and the DB user credentials (username and password) were both non-null and set to the values I used when I created that account using phpMyAdmin. (I tried deleting that user and recreating such that the Host name column from above image shows localhost instead of %, just to see if that helped ... but it made no difference when I tried to create tables again in a new DB.) EDIT: Also tried on a new DB to connect with user credentials for root (username root, blank p/w): those credentials connected OK but still the same problem: table creation never completes; looking at the DB shows the problem is it always stops with a tng_languages table instead of carrying on with whatever other tables are missing (at least tng_mediatypes are missing per error message). theKiwi
Use phpMyAdmin to take a look at the database - are all of the fields in all of the tables created the same collation? Is that collation the same as what is specified in your TNG Admin ------->Setup ------> Collation ? When did you download the TNG 13 install you're trying to use? Was it since October 6? If not, go download a fresh install, AND the Patch .zip file that is listed on that same TNG 13 Downloads page and start over with that. Strathglass
theKiwi - thanks, I independently was just checking on collation. First, it was after October 6 that I downloaded the V13 full file, so that should not be an issue. But I decided to try again with a change for the collation used in the DB I created and used in the step 7 table creation process of the TNG readme file: I changed this so that both used the explicit value utf8_general_ci, instead of using the Wampserver default collation of "utf8mb4_0900_ai_ci" when creating the db and leaving the step 7 collation blank (db default) in the TNG readme file step. That allowed the table creation to complete! Hopefully that will let me finish up OK, will see. Thanks guys!
Strathglass
And confirming that everything works fine now with the Wampserver local version.
Ken Roy
Thanks for posting that WampServer defaults to using utf8mb4_0900_ai_ci for its collation sequence. Some one reported a similar collation sequence mismatch on the TNG user2list
