Strathglass 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2020 From the help when importing GEDCOM: Quote Import Custom Event Types Only (no data is added, replaced or appended) Checking this option will cause only Custom Event Types to be imported (see Admin/Custom Event Types). All other data is ignored. This is an ideal option to select during your initial setup, as it will allow you to see which custom events you have in your gedcom. You can then select which ones to accept and which ones to ignore before importing your entire database. Where exactly is the magic undocumented location you go to to see the custom events that result when you select this option? (I did this for a new (second) test tree called temp and it reported IIRC 25 new custom types.)
Rob Severijns 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2020 Go to admin --> Custom Event Types There you will find them. Kind regards, Rob
Strathglass 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2020 Excellent, thanks Rob. That screen unfortunately does not show what tree the types are associated with, but at least it shows them!
Ken Roy 0 Report post Posted October 11, 2020 I do not think that the Custom Event Types are associated with any tree. There is nothing in the Help screen that indicates association with a tree. Quote Associated with Choose an option from this dropdown box to limit the search to Custom Event Types associated with individuals, families, sources or repositories.
