Media display: no longer works

Error message being returned indicates

Illegal mix of collations (latin1_swedish_ci,IMPLICIT) and (latin1_general_ci,IMPLICIT) for operation '='

So you need to fix your database collation sequence

Except it isn't really fixed in total - there are issues with the language files it seems as I see a number of missing characters, replaced by the ? in a black diamond on the page linked above

The source code for the page shows it's using UTF-8. Is TNG properly configured to be using the UTF-8 language files?

Hi,

I have the same problem,
showmedia is hangig at "Loading"   ; Dia-Show is working

But I do not have a glance, what to do
and what adjustments, I should make in PHPMyAdmin.

Currently It shows:

PHPMyAdmin_Screenshot.JPG

Currently I try running TNG13 under Xampp, prior to publish it on my Website..

regards

Michael

Hello Ken,

SOLVED  SOLVED  SOLVED  SOLVED

I crawled in PHBMyAdmin   and found the Error-Message  under "Operations" related to the TNG-Database

and  changed all Collation    to "latin1_general_cs";

Hope this is correct...

Now Media were loaded.

regards

Michael

Michael,

latin1_general_cs would only be valid if your database is not created as a UTF-8 database.  If you use accented characters these days, it might be better to create your database as UTF-8

For access to the PHP errors, you can install the Show PHP Error Log mod or the Prolog Mod but in both cases you may need to follow the instructions in PHP Error Log

Thankyou, Ken

On Xampp all seems to be  is o.K.    now.
I'll try the qbove mods, when running into PGP problems again.

Ive transferred the application to my public Webserver and got other problems;
I'll setup a new post in the forum ...

regards

Michael
