Menu Order

Hi Folks

It's been a while since my last post.  But I'm implementing TNG for Berkshire Family History Society in the UK, so that has renewed my activity with TNG

My own install uses a WordPress integration but this time I'm using native TNG and I have a question about the order of the menu items. The Logout and Edit Profile option sits in the middle of the search and find options and, as such, seems to interrupt the natural flow of the operations that a user might expect.  Search, Find, Media and Info are all a natural progression as you enquire into the data.  Logout and Profile are something else entirely.

If you right-align the Find, Media, and Info pull down menus, the Logout and Edit profile would behave as designed

Hi Ken

Thanks for your reply.  Do I have the wrong setting?  Because this is how it's set and what it displays

Do you have any mods that change the menu display in genlib.php?  That is the same option I have and if you look at my site, you will see that it displays with the Find, Media, and Info pull down on the right instead of the left.

This is a brand new site with not a mod in sight, yet.

This may be a function of the Marsha template (210) that I'm using.  In fact, my menu and yours have the same items in the same order but the menu bar is continuous rather than being segmented like yours.  OK, food for thought.  Thanks Ken

Not sure what would cause that to happen.

I'm guessing it's a styling issue in the template. I'll talk to Marsha

Does it display correctly if you use one of the TNG distibuted templates?

Yes, so it must definitely be a template styling issue

Well at least now we know it is not the TNG setup.  Maybe Marsha is not honoring the TNG option settings or was not aware of them..
