Turn off Header

Recommended Posts

mkmcgold

Is there a way to show the header only on the index page and not on any other pages. I'm sure I was able to do that at one time but either am dreaming or forgot how to do it. I added a picture to the top of my header that is a bit too big and when the header loads to all my other pages it takes up too much room.

THANKS

Template 15
ver 12.2

I don't use template 15 but it sounds like you have to either remove the pic (and use default) or reduce it's size.

The index panorama image lublin.jpg is 728x120

Your replacement pic should be of very similar dimensions so as not to be too big.

I think you should be able to edit the topmenu.php so as not to include the pic.

manofmull, Thanks so much for the suggestion but it doesn't really answer my question - is one able to turn off headers in all but the "front page?"

I said I think you should be able to edit the topmenu.php so as not to include the pic.

Make a backup of the topmenu.php first

Then try commenting out or removing this line

 <a href="<?php echo $cms['tngpath'] . $homepage; ?>"><img src="<?php echo $cms['tngpath'] . $templatepath . $tmp['t15_titleimg']; ?>" title="" alt=""></a>

if this doesn't work maybe someone will chip in or you could email Darrin

Thanks manofmull, I did not pay close enough attention and skipped right over your initial suggestion.  Color me embarrassed!

I will try editing/commenting out stuff. The line you suggested didn't do the trick but you were on to something.  I did get everything except the picture to disappear so will fiddle with that for a while. It disappeared off of all pages though.  Back to the drawing board...........Thanks again

In the theme configuratio, if you just take off the text that refer to the photo, the photo will not be there anymore. Better choose an image of the  same height but not large, put it in the image file under theme 15. Go to configuration and change the actual image with this one. You may try with many sizes to see what it is the best .

What is the url of your site?
