hello!

When I import a "xxx.ged " into TNG, I get the following error message:
The Gedcom directory probably has incorrect permission. ; please choose chmod 755 or 777.
Where can I do this?

Best regards

A

You can do this through the File Manager in your cPanel.

Or connect to your site by FTP and use the FPT software to set the permissions

Hello!

The matter is complicated. I use TNG with Mamp Pro. A host provides an image of the life page. If I want to import an updated xxxx.ged from this host, I get the error message

The path I use is Document/website-tng.
There I put the folder gedcom on read & writing for all users. Nowhere is it possible to set a chmod.

What shall i do?

If you have set the gedcom folder to readable and writeable to all users, then that is the same as chmod 777

If you look in the TNG Admin ------> Setup ------> Diagnostics, then do all the sections show a green light there?

Hello Roger
I set everything that way, but it doesn't work. I'm going to re-set it all up. Many thanks for your help

Did you look at the TNG Diagnostics?

What did it say?

hello!

I found the cause. The username in the Ged file differed from the path-user name in the local application. The correction of the path name resulted in the correct import.
Thank you for your help, Roger.
