How can I move "Contact Us"

Recommended Posts

wmpbrown

I want to move Contact Us to the empty space below. I'm using v11, template 10.

Please include a screen shot of the code placement so I don't get it wrong.

Your homepage doesn't have that space.

I tried moving my own but it didn't work. It probably involves changing a path somewhere as well as just moving the code. Hopefully someone else can work this out

Thanks for answering manofmull.

Maybe it's my display resolution is the reason I see it.

Above the feed icon, you mean closer to the bottom where the black line is in my screen shot? That would good as well. And, how can I center the "Contact Us" heading?

Do you happen to know how I can add  SEO meta tags to the index as well?

I believe this is the code for Contact Us

    <h4><?php echo $text['contactus']; ?></h4>
                    <p><img src="<?php echo $cms['tngpath'] . $templatepath; ?>img/email.gif" alt="email image" class="emailimg" /><?php echo $text['contactus_long']; ?></p>

To center, you can try this but back up your template index.php first

Just replace what's there with the code below

<h4><?php echo $text['contactus']; ?></h4>
                    <p align="center"><img src="<?php echo $cms['tngpath'] . $templatepath; ?>img/email.gif" alt="email image" class="emailimg" /><?php echo $text['contactus_long']; ?></p>

I tried moving Contact Us to above the feed icon but it didn't work.

That is displayed on stdsitecredit.php and I think it has to be on index.php for the template

Personally, I like it as it is but I removed the feed icon.

For SEO meta tags, see the other post on this page.

You probably want to intall the mod

Ok, so I'm looking at the index.php for template10. I'm seeing 3 <div class>

is it possible that it would get moved to one of those? With the center align="center" in the <h4></h4> line?

                    <h4 align="center"><?php echo $text['contactus']; ?></h4>
                    <p><img src="<?php echo $cms['tngpath'] . $templatepath; ?>img/email.gif" alt="email image" class="emailimg" /><?php echo $text['contactus_long']; ?></p>

                </div>
                <div class="cleared"></div>
                </div>

                <div class="cleared"></div>
                </div>
               </div>

               <div class="cleared">Maybe I could put the [contactus] statement here?</div>
               </div>

:) I have that installed, it adds meta tags to individual, family-group, and family-chart pages but not on the index/top page.

I got the centering, I think it looks better. Got the RSS icon out too. Tried moving the "contactus" statement around, first try was an epic fail, other moves made no difference.

You've been a big help, thank you :)

I see on your screen shot that you've added/changed the verbiage and added additional links and changed the font color. Did you do that in the template index file or on another file?

Take a look, tell me if you see the difference.

Did you get it centered from the little bit of code I added? Your homepage is looking better.

See https://www.metatags.org/meta_name_description

<title>MULL FAMILIES</title>
<meta name="Keywords" content="" />
<meta name="Description" content="MULL FAMILIES" />

Your index page will have similar to mine above. See that website for fuller details.

What's on my homepage is an edited template index.php  (text is edited in Admin/Template Settings)

I've centered things too and highlighted the Relationship Feature links text in red

The two words < my website >

<p align="center"><font color="#FF0000">my website</font></p>

The above code centers them and the font color is red.

If you want to bold any text (in Admin) you can precede with <strong> and end with </strong>
