Event Type options missing

Recommended Posts

Brett

A new install of TNG 12.1 under MAMP 4.1.0. Diagnostic show all green. PHP is 7.2.10.

I have run TNG 8,9,10,11, 12 successfully in the past. Most recent has been a TNG update to TNG 12.1.

Today, the drop down to add an event is blank, rather than having marriage, divorce etc.

I went through the process a second time, new database etc, and the same result.

Any solutions requested.

Hi Brett,

I have the same issue.

Has yours been solved yet?

Kind regards,

Rob

Hi !

I get this from times to times. It may happen when I try several modifications at a time. To solve it, I close the event window without updating, then save the other informations that I was updating, Then I click again on the editing link and  come back to the adding of a new event. The event popup should be complete.

Not the answer you would be looking for.

It appears my recollection was not correct. No Custom Events are available on a new install. They are only there if imported from a GEDCOM with those events OR added individually.

I have been looking into setting up a base 'table' with GEDCOM tags for common Events.

If you add the event in custom event type and then associate it with an individual:

So that it has been defined:

Does it then show up in the dropdown when adding a new event to a person?

Hi everyone,

Sorry for the late reply and thanks for your suggestions/solutions.

In the meantime the problem is solved.

I imported 1 person via a gedcom and that did the trick.

Kind regards,

Rob
