How do I use 'notes' fields in a report

I am trying to create a report and pick up information which is transferred to TNG within 'Notes'.  Is it possible to do this?  Ive tried using the Notes fields from the drop down list - but those fields don't contain the information I am looking for. Can anyone advise?
