I will be unavailable for "unknown" due to some personal unavoidable circumstances. Hopefully you people understand our lives take an unexpected turn.

The special_list mods are simple I am sure someone would take over.

Will have computer available for updates if possible from wamp but will not have internet access.

This will take effect on November 1, 2019 however our site is online until July 25, 2020 for downloading available speciallist mods.

Have decided to share my PersonaI Mod within TNG users. We have been using Special List since TNGv9.0.0 it is named Most Notable on our site. We use it to add Most Notable Persons & Most Notable Photos for persons within your genealogy you wish to highlight. It can be renamed to suit your own special needs for your site.

The wikipage has all the instructions with more included within the mod itself. 

Please test the TNGv12 and let me know your comments, problems etc.

How do you add the text under "Description" in a 2nd language?

All TNG language files have the standard variable  $text['description'] =  in text.php and admintext.php , so if that variable is being used by the mod it should translate.

Special List Mod will not change the description to another language. The tng tables do not change descriptions to other languages. Your concerns need to be directed to Darrin.

Ok, thank you. I would like the mod to change the text under Description to Norwegian, and not only change the language of the headings. I need to be able to enter the text in both languages, and switching when selecting the other language - for the mod to be useful. There is no point in changing the headings into Norwegian, if the text is not changed also...

I installed the mod at my test site. 

A solution is to have the mod doing the translation of the headings, and add the text in both languages in the "Description field".

This works,  but it is not the optimal and the most elegant solution. Full language switching capabilities should be built into the mod.

I really like that this makes it easy to highlight the most interesting people and stories.

Installed the MOD on v12.0. template 9.

It did not want to create the new table "tng_speciallist" so  I created it manually using the SQL code from admin_speciallist.php within CPANEL/MySQL.

The mod now works, with a couple of issues.  The menu does not have any text (and a gray stripe) and the Most notable data does not include the title.  (see images below)

I don't see any text on the Most Notable page or to the left of the person you are describing. Did you update your language folders in TNG version 12, the custom text has been changed and must include the update to work properly.

I am assuming you are on TNGv12.0.0 as I do not recall the first version. However if you had read the Special List Mod versions and TNG versions it was not tested on TNGv12.0 as on your site. It was tested in TNGv 12.0.1-12.0.2 you should not have to add the table yourself. Did you receive an error before installing? I tested the Special List Mod again on test site after removing table and uninstalling. Then switched to template 9 and installed the mod, add table, then restored Most Notable from Admin > Utilities as  indicated in instructions. No issues or problems however my TNG version is TNGv12.02 could be the TNG needs upgrading. 

This mod had no issues or conflicts that I am aware of. If you are in need of more help contact me via personal message.

Below is what displays on the Most Notable page.

I also attached my cust_text.php from the languages/English-UTF8 folder

It appears to have the Most Notable variable names needed.

I decided to test it on my TNGv12.0.0 and work through any issues or worst case uninstall and Drop the specialist table.  There were no Mod installation errors. 

Being TNGv12.0.0 I am sure is the complication.

Hi,

I tested the Mod v12.1.1b with TNG v12.0.2, no matter what template.

It works almost everything, but the display is slightly different than the pictures here.

The empty line before the line "Tell us what you think of this" is missing. This text is immediately next to the photo.

Also, the headline (A Man & His Wife) is not displayed.

I did the test with my test installation, without any other Mod.

What is wrong? Can I do something by myself?

I have retested on my personal live site. Have Drop Table, uninstalled the mod, deleted the mod cfg file and folder.

Have downloaded fresh 12.1.1b copy and have downloaded the zip folder to mods. Have extracted folder to mods and installed, Add Table, and in Admin > Utilities have restored the data to Most Notable. I find absolutely nothing wrong with the mod. 

Will post answer to the problem when found. Had to change the default collation for languages to work properly.

I tested v12.1.1b with TNG v12.0.2. The link to “the most wanted page” is not installed and the English heading variable names are missing - see image. The heading variable names shows correctly at the Norwegian pages, after manually adding the language strings in the Norwegian text file, but no link is installed.

The default for the mod is no link if you want to add it go to mod manager and change the 0 to a 1. These are in the instructions on the wikipage and further up on this page.

Sure, the version before 12.1.1b worked, but NOT v12.1.1b updated by you Nov 27. And I have tried to uninstall and then reinstall..

Can you make the first version (from before Nov 27) available for download?

 I have received 2 updated files (speciallist.php and spesiallist_v12.1.1b.cfg) from another community member. I will PM you his name. After uninstalling the mod, uploading these files and reinstalling, the English and Norwegian pages now display as they should. Thank you for making the mod public.

Special List Mod special_list_v12.1.3 was updated for TNGv12.0.3 only.

The Mod Guidelines established in TNG V8 were set to require that the first three positions of a mod number indicate the minimum TNG version that a mod will install or work on.

I would recommend that Special List mod version for TNG 12.0.3 use %version:V12.0.3.N% where N is the change number for the mod and a zip file name to reflect the same version.  If the mod is named v12.1.3 it is difficult to determine what TNG version to which the mod applies.

Thanks for the information on the mods and the numbering of mods and I can see where that makes a whole lot of sense. The how and why are explained thoroughly in the Mod Guidelines.

The mod would be numbered 12.0.3.1 because it is updated from TNGv12.0.2  to TNGv12.0.3 and does not work on 12.0.2 or below and will only work on TNG12.0.3  if I understand this correctly.  Please chime in to correct or advise me at anytime which would be very much appreciated. I will change the special_list_v12.1.3 to special_list_v12.0.3.1 to be in compliance with the Mod Guidelines.

Special List Mod has been updated to version 12.0.3.1b, includes Swedish Language thanks to Erik Hoppe and few minor edits including changing default to link (1). Users are asking to change default from no link (0) to link (1) no it not only installs links but is default.

Most Wanted Link Addon has been added to the Special List Mod page. This Most Wanted Link Addon adds a link to the Most Wanted page with the link under header to Most Notable page.

Change Include link below header 
0 = no link 
1 = link 
Defaults to (1)
