Guido van Harten
I have a gedcom containing 65,000 people. When importing it, the import halts after 34,930 persons. Looking in the gedcom at the point near to the 34,930th item I can't find any cause. What can I do to import the gedcom correctly. theKiwi
Does it stop at EXACTLY the same place each time or it it at different places around the same place? If you look in the tng_people table using phpMyAdmin after each failure does it have exactly the same number of records? Roger
Guido van Harten
Roger, thanks for your reply. I see the number of records in TNG in the section Trees: 34,930 items all the times... Another situation: in the gedcom I see many strange characters. Where these are coming from, I don't know, so first I have to solve that problem. Chris Lloyd
What is the source of your GEDCOM? Could it be that you are using FTM? There are issues with the GEDCOM output from FTM that don't import into TNG.

Can you make a .zip version of it and then post it somewhere that it might be downloaded and I'll try to import it into my testing site. If you can put it in DropBox or somewhere and send an eMail to rogerkiwi@aol.com with the link. Roger
Guido van Harten
My gedcom is edited manually and written using an Excel-application. At this moment I am corresponding with the author of these application to find the cause of the 'mis-writing' of my gedcom (some Chinese symbols in the NOTEs). I will let you know if the problem is solved or not. Regards, Guido
