Then I did the 5 steps above and I got my forum. IF you don't want to do this yourself, I can do it for you if you PM me some username and password that may handle your mods and FTP.. The only problem I have now is that there is no link in the info drop down menu to Forums. I am using a Template I bought a while back. My website can be accessed at https://marcirish.us My Template number is 210. Not sure how to use the Forum Link to Index mods to try and create the menu link. Any suggestions? Thanks. In the Edit panel, when you have created a forum it's in a list. Below that list is the button. Did you click it and got an alert saying something like "Your forum is now installed and opened for your users"? If not: Return to the edit panel (from Modmanager) and click the button. HTH And I'm sorry but I don't know anything about that template... But you don't need it as there are DD menus on your index page. I don't have the "D D Menu" installed, but have made the Forum_TNG available through the Features which are available in this template. There's still a lot more to do - including grass cutting. Thanks so much for your help. I have created a limited user login "Magazine. / Magazine" for other purposes, but this should enable a glance. I have also installed the Public Access Control mod; will duly add to user lists on the wiki when the site is up and running next week. This will allow me to have a Forum for members without have to install something WordPress that might not be fully compatible. I had been struggling with installing this for several days after discovering your mod. Setting up TNG as I normally do, with keeping security in mind, I live with a securty professional so it comes naturally. Today, when trying to active your mode, I got as far as: Reports: Attempting to create tables... All tables created succesfully. Attempting to add keys to tables... All keys added succesfully. Attempting to add autoincrements to tables... All autoincrements added succesfully. Attempting to create directories... All directories created succesfully. Attempting to copy files... 0 / 1 root files copied! 21 / 21 image files NOT copied! 12 / 12 language files NOT copied! A total of 34 files NOT copied! I then found this forum and started reading, and not finding what was what. I then found the install, and started reading thru the code. It took me about an hour or so, but I discovered that you hard coded the directories into the install. Part of my install is to actually rename the directories slightly from the default install, security. This being a test system, I blew everything away, did my normal install - except leaving the directories as per the default. I then started the Install and Configureation of your mode. Everything started to work like a dream. I wanted to let you know about the possiblity of site admins renaming the main directories, and for your setup to take this into account. Now for my question, if I go back to my normal practice of renaming the directies, bascially put a prefix in front, will this break Forum? The new version, posted a few days ago, is okay - if you didn't try to install the previous version first. Then you have to do what I posted above. Totally my bad decision to post that messed-up version! Regarding re-naming the directories... That's something I simply haven't thought about. And you're right: For security and protection it should be possible - and it's "TNG standard" as well. I will look into it and try to realize it in the next version, probably for the next version of TNG. (And PHP...) I hope you and your users enjoy the forum! Rob Severijns Posted August 6, 2024 Report Share Posted August 6, 2024 Hi Ashleigh, Since the wiki of the mod doesn't say it works with TNG 14.x I'm not sure the mod will actualy work with TNG 14.x You can try it at your own risk.
