I have over 60 available reports but one thing really bugs me because I can't find a way to stop the same people appearing multiple times.

Example. I use many find people who "lived in" reports. Example in attached screen shot is Hastings Road Corsham Wiltshire.

The report works fine apart from you have to use the residence field and that pulls all records for that person where a matching address appears.

The example shows the same person 4 times for 1901/1911/1921/1939 censuses. There for 20 people living in a certain street could make list 50-70 entries.

Is there a way to skip person if already listed.

I apologize in advance if this post is too long-winded; I have a terrible problem in getting my thoughts written down .

I am trying to create a report that TNG's Report Writer seems to be incapable of creating.

With TNG's Report Writer, THIS is the report that I have so far.  The problem that I am having is with the Find-a-Grave Memorial ID column.

In Legacy, I've created new events, which Legacy is exporting successfully to GEDCOM, and which TNG is successfully picking up from the GEDCOM, and displaying successfully on people's GetPerson page.

In Legacy, here are 2 events in question for an individual:

Note that those 2 events have only their Event Names, and Notes.  There are no Descriptions, Dates or Places.

From the GEDCOM, here are those 2 events that are successfully exported from Legacy and imported into TNG:

I've found that in TNG's Report Writer, I can create reports fine, but without a description for events in TNG, there's no way for TNG to find those events for reports.

In the report, there's a few entries that do indeed show up in that Find-a-Grave Memorial ID column, but that's only because I temporarily duplicated the Notes section in the Description field for a few people.

I am hoping that a MySQL expert in these forums could figure out if it's possible to create an SQL query that can search for 2 strings, for example:

Find-a-Grave <b>Cemetery</b> ID: <a href="https://www.finda

...and...

Find-a-Grave <b>Memorial</b> ID: <a href="https://www.finda

...and then insert those notes from those 2 events into what I already have in my report so far.  Note that my report does not yet have the column for Find-a-Grave Cemetery ID yet at this time.  I can then remove the dozen or so descriptions for those events that I temporarily added, as I do not wish the descriptions for those events to be displayed on GetPerson pages.

I've included that report's description field the SQL query that TNG's Report Writer came up with, if that helps.

I have a large database and one of the trees start with my children and goes back 18 generations. There is a lot of information, also images and scanned documents attached to persons.

Is it possible to create a report that can include all those data ? 

Another question is if a report can be exported to Word or Pages ?

I want to export a list of users to be used to import their credentials for allowing automatic log-in to another website page (but still a part of my website) that requires login.

When I view a family chart for an individual, it has this line above the chart:

"Drag or scroll to see more of the chart. Show family with spouse Show family with parents Select other spouses Select other parents"

When I view the source for that line of text, there aren't any hyperlinks there, so the options don't do anything.

My goal is to get this person's half-siblings on the page, if possible.  Thanks for your help.

Would it be possible to somehow create a TNG report that lists all places in my TNG database, but have it displayed in reverse order?  Rather than try to explain it, here is an example (generated by Legacy) of what I'm talking about:

And although not a necessity, it would be nice if each of the above lines included a hyperlink to each.

Would that be doable?  Or would anyone already have such a report?

Maybe someone can write an SQL query for me?

The query should contain:
Person ID, Name, Date of Birth, Date of Death, now the note should appear here (which I entered under Death Notes in TNG), and Place of Burial.

I need some help with a script for a report that would

• select all Places containing "cemetery", "memorial", "burial"
• generate a count of all Burial events associated with the selected Places
• sort the selected Places in descending order of Burial count
• preferably allowing for an input variable for minimum Burial count (but with at least a minimum count of 25 -- I could manually modify the script if needed)

This should be a fairly simple script, but I'm not totally up to date on script writing.

My TNG Site is https://www.schulerfamily.org and I have included the screen I get when I try a PDF Report I know it worked in the past but no idea if that was TNG11, TNG12 or TNG 13 since I have no used the function recently.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have some TNG reports that were created using TNG's Report Writer, and other reports that were created using direct SQL SELECT statements.

When I go into phpMyAdmin and select Reports, those reports that were created using TNG's Report Writer have info in the display, criteria & orderby fields.  And those reports that were created using direct SQL SELECT statements have info in the sqlselect field.

I know absolutely nothing about MySQL, so I'm wondering if there is a way that I can somehow create direct SQL SELECT statements from information in display, criteria & orderby fields.

I have a need to use some SQL SELECT statements directly in some of my custom TNG pages, but I have no idea how to convert the above... or if it's even possible.

Can someone help please? I'm trying to create a report within TNG to show all modifications/ new entries made to the database between two dates, or within a particular year, e.g. Modifications made during 2024.

I'm struggling to find the right way to parse the criteria to acheive this ...

Heres: my problem.  In my review of the records, I'm finding many realtionships between the children & the parents (Birth, Adopted, Stepchild, etc.) are blank.  Other than manually going through each record to find those blank fields, there must be a way to write a SQL query report to do that.  Does anyone have such a report, or can someone clue me in to the table name & data elements to use.  I know a little SQL, ut I'm a novice for sure.  Thanks, Carol

Firstly, I took a look at all of the reports written by Henny Savenije, and also the reports list here in the Wiki, but unfortunately none of them are what I am looking for.

Background:  When I first got into Genealogy more than 25 years ago, I was very lax setting new users to either Living or Not Living.  As a result, I have many (possibly thousands of) people in my tree who lived many centuries ago, but currently show in TNG as Living because there are no birth/dates associated with them.

Both Legacy and TNG can set/display users as Living or Not Living, based on settings & utilities/processes, but they can only do so when dates are known.

I have my TNG sites set to correctly protect (not display certain things), based on if users are logged in or not.  That is not the problem, and not what I am inquiring about here.

Problem:  As mentioned above, I have many (possibly thousands of) people in my tree who lived many centuries ago, but currently show in TNG as Living because there are no birth/dates associated with them.  An example of where this becomes sorta comical (but also annoying!) is when displaying ancestor charts.  I've randomly come across some ancestor charts on my site, which has one or more individuals showing birth and/or death dates from centuries ago (example, dates in the 1700s), but above them is listed an ancestor showing as Living (because I have no dates for that ancestor).

To illustrate easily what I am trying to explain, I temporarily removed all dates from one of my ancestors in order to make the below screenshot.  Look at the below screenshot, and note on the 2nd generation from the top, the husband of Israel MEADEN.  Even though he lived in at least the 1600s and possibly 1700s too, and therefor would've died about 300 years ago, in TNG he is still showing as Living :

In the above example, the problem is NOT with TNG... TNG is correctly displaying what it is setup to display.  The problem is with my Legacy program exporting that person as still living, so I need to manually change that & similar people in situations like that to Not Living in Legacy.

But how can I know, which individuals who lived 125+ years ago, are set in my Legacy database as still Living?  Using TNG's report-writer, I very-easily created a basic report to display all people on my TNG site who do not have a born/baptized/died/buried date.  However, many of those individuals displayed using that report were born less than 125 years ago, so could quite possibly still be alive.

Solution:  I am hoping that a MySQL expert can help me create a report, which will display all users:

1. with NO died/buried date; and
2. who have a spouse and/or children who have ANY date associated with them that was more than, say, 110 years ago.  By dates associated with them, the dates could be for any of the following (but at least one of those dates):
   • born/baptized/died/buried;
   • any alternate date;
   • any other date, such as: census, education, marriage, residence, marriage, etc.
3. So for criteria 2 (above), rather than the MySQL report searching for specific dates, hopefully the MySQL code can just search for ANY date associated with those spouses & children which were more than 110 years ago.

Would such a report be doable?  If yes, then I could run that report myself, which will tell me which specific individuals in my Legacy database that I need to individually change from Living to Not Living manually .

So some might work and some might not.

They can also be used as a starting point for the creation of your own reports.

However, I also want to know the number of people in each tree, and this works: "select gedcom as Tree, count(gedcom) as people from tng_people group by gedcom".

But when I try to combine these statements, like: "select gedcom,Treename,description,lastimportdate, (count(gedcom) as people from tng_people where tng_people.gedcom=tng_trees.gedcom )   from tng_trees order by treename" I get something which times out before it can produce an answer.

Any ideas, please?

I would like to report families where one spouse is 20 years or more older than the other spouse, with the age gap calculated and sorted by gap. It could be 2 separate reports (wife older than husband by 20 years or more, and husband older than wife by 20 years or more).

I just wonder if anybody has created (or if it's really possible) any of this reports for TNG:

• Detailed Ahnentafel report with all recorded information (and pictures) for x number of generations?
• Detailed Descendants report with the same information as above?

Or - is the only way to get this to use another genealogy software...
